Circuit diagram of 7 segment interfacing 8051 microcontroller is given below. 11.0592 Mhz crystal is used to provide clock to 89c52 microcontroller. Common anode 7 segment display led’s are switched ON when we make any led pin ground. I am using common anode seven segment display in the project. Now move second pattern to port 0 ,make common cathode pin low, call a small delay of 1ms,repeat this process 7 segment display with 8051 microcontroller – circuit diagram The circuit of the project is straight forward. Now move the pattern to port 0,make common cathode pin low, call a small delay of 1ms. A low on common cathode pin requires high logic to send to the base of transistor. Now write down the pattern for display i.e a low on common cathode pin and high on a segment lights up the led. Collector of bc547(two numbers) is connected to common cathode pin Emitter is grounded, base is connected to the microcontroller through 10k resister. For a two digit counter two common cathode display is used so the two common cathode pins of the display is connected to the microcontroller through a transistor. In the case of common cathode display,8 pins from port 0 is connected to the 7 segments of the common cathode display.
